Tretower Court 13th/14th September.

The  Lord was kind to us on this our last commission and the sun shone endlessly. We had a full company which was kept very busy as a great number of folk were happy to join in our jovial and carefree way these two days.

There were strangers in the camp . The first, was a footpad that skulked about following our troupe from Cardiff. When accosted he came by the name of Master Robert and was interested in joining our happy bunch o f mishaps. Another was a friend of our Dragoon who travelled all the way from Pembroke castle arriving on the second day with his longbow so that he might  join in the archery fun along with Master Robert.

Talking of archery we have had a couple of 17th Century groupies ! A family were so impressed with our company at Laugharne that they deliberately followed us to Tretower so that they could join in our carefree disposition and try to perfect their archery skills. Another groupie was Mistress Carol from Perth in Scotland who was so impressed with her archery skills, having benefited from some coaching from Mistress Susan, that she was at the court door the following day at the crack of dawn ready for some more.

With our company good in number we had a lot of fun. With our  Captain back  with us, drill was perfect. As can be seen below we repelled any enemy with ease whether it be Cavalry or Foot .

To end this diary it only remains for me to say thank you to the general public that have made it a pleasure to perform a piece of history to them. I hope these scribblings have been enjoyable and have intoxicated the reader with the fun that can be achieved from a bunch of carefree vagabonds, gutter snipes and misshapes.

We shall now melt into the shadows of the forest, replenish our stocks of powder , arrows and  top up our good humour ready to spring into action at a moments notice next year
