A most welcoming hostelry

Welcome to the Copious Coinpurse, the liveliest and most welcoming travelling hostelry this side of the welsh border.

My name is Goodwife Louise Pymm, wife of the captain.  I was born in the port city of Bristol and was raised aboard ship travelling the spice routes with my father who was a surgeon in the East India Company. I acted as my fathers assistant and began to learn the intricacies and beneficial properties of herbs and spices in dealing with all manner of ills which do so afflict mankind.

Upon returning to England we happened to fall in with a military unit who would sell their services to the highest bidder, regardless of political affiliations or religion.  They were sore in need of someone to minister to the sick and injured and my father decided we would stay ashore so that he might regain his landlegs !

Whist travelling we were joined by Captain James Pymm, an itinerant officer who had been serving in Venice and the holy roman empire.  Shortly after joining us Captain Pymm made an offer to my father for my hand in marriage - which he was pleased to accept on my behalf.  We were married on the 21st of June in the year of our lord 1640.

My husband has recently entrusted me the establishment of this hostelry so that we may help provide good food and drink for the travelling band that is the Marcher Stuarts.

To help me cope with the demanding nature of the Stuarts I am helped by my sister Mistress Faye, who has recently travelled to us from Bristol, Mistress Julia, companion of our faithful yet somewhat distracted spy, and Master Daniel Bywater, brewer extraordinaire, who arrived in Mistress Faye's wake.

So if you are in need of a square meal, drink and lively conversation then we welcome your custom… provided you have the coin!
